Dr. Mark Johnson, the chief medical officer for Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, has been elected to the Oklahoma Hospital Association board of trustees.
He will serve a three-year term through 2017 as the board's physician member.
“As the physician member working alongside hospital administrators from across the state, Dr. Johnson will bring an enhanced clinical perspective to the many challenging and transformational health care issues being addressed by the board,” said Craig W. Jones, president, Oklahoma Hospital Association.
Dr. Johnson has served as chief medical officer at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City for more than 15 years and also serves as chief medical officer for the Mercy West region. He previously served in medical-administrative positions at Presbyterian Hospital and Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, and prior to that, practiced as an internal medicine physician in Oklahoma City for 17 years.
