Pediatrician Krishna Kosuru, M.D., has joined Mercy Clinic Independence and will begin his practice in mid-June.
Dr. Kosuru is relocating to Independence from Lansing, Michigan, where he completed his pediatric residency through the Michigan State University/Sparrow Pediatric Residency program. He earned his medical degree in 2006 at Rangaraya Medical College in his home country of India before relocating to the United States for additional education.
A new father himself with a 9-month-old daughter, Dr. Kosuru brings a diverse educational background related to children’s wellness – from smoking prevention to asthma to safe use of the Internet - and will offer a full range of primary health care services for children ages birth to 18.
“I’m very much looking forward to establishing my practice and meeting the people of Independence,” said Dr. Kosuru. “Caring for children is my passion. I am excited about the opportunity to partner with parents in the community to help ensure their kids grow up safe and healthy.”
Dr. Kosuru was scheduled to arrive in the community this week to begin orientation and office preparations, and his first appointments will be scheduled in mid-June.
Dr. Kosuru’s wife, Dr. Suhasini Rallabandi, is also a physician and is completing an internal medicine residency in Michigan. She and the baby will join Dr. Kosuru in Independence in the coming months.
