Destiny Mitchell has joined Mercy Clinic in Stratford, where she will serve patients from many walks of life as a family medicine nurse practitioner.
Specializing in family medicine allows her to see patients with a variety of needs, including the treatment of illnesses and injuries, preventive care and ongoing health management. She is devoted to comprehensive health care for patients of all ages.
“I’ve always been passionate about helping people in any way possible,” said Mitchell. “My passion to help people led me to pursue a career in health care and my love for small towns brought me to Stratford to provide medical care for this community.”
Mitchell brings drive and compassion to her new position in Stratford. She believes that God provides us opportunities to care for others and working in Stratford is what she is called to do. She looks forward to getting to know the community and connecting with and treating families in the area.
“I pursued additional education to have more impact on patient care,” said Mitchell. “I value one-on-one interaction with my patients. I want my patients to know I truly care and I’m here to help.”
Mitchell received her associate’s degree in nursing from Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and her master’s degree in nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Curtis, have three children and serve as youth pastors at their church.
Mitchell is accepting new patients and can be reached at Mercy Clinic Stratford at 217 W. Smith Street or by phone at (580) 759-2336.
