Change is in the air at Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Republic, and it’s more than just the seasons. A new family doctor has joined the Mercy team, and she’s accepting new patients.
Minh Nguyen, MD, is now the newest provider at the clinic located at 322 South Main Street. “I’ve had a warm welcome here at Mercy,” Dr. Nguyen said. “I’m drawn to everyone’s energy, and the community is so friendly and welcoming.”
Dr. Nguyen received her medical education from the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies. She completed a family medicine internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin in Wausau, Wisconsin.
“I was the first in my family to graduate from college,” Dr. Nguyen said. “We emigrated from Vietnam in the 1980s. My parents raised my five siblings and me in Orange County, California. From there, I took quite a long path.”
Dr. Nguyen has worked in several fields – from human resources to loan processing – but something always seemed to be missing. “Medicine was more of a calling to me, so I switched gears and went into pharmacy and medical school.”
Today, Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Physician Institute and the American Academy of Family Physicians. As the primary provider at Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Republic, she looks forward to offering a wide variety of services to families and residents.
“I can’t wait to care for newborns, as well as provide health care for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. My biggest focus is on preventative care, to keep our community healthy early on to avoid going down the path of chronic diseases.”
In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys being a homebody with her husband and 3-year-old daughter. “We love nothing more than spending time with her. She’s a big reason we chose Missouri. We wanted to be away from congestion and start a clean life in a top-notch, diverse community.”
Dr. Nguyen’s office is located at 332 South Main St. in Republic, Mo. She can be reached at 417-732-5050.
