The holiday season can be especially difficult with the absence of a loved one. That’s why Mercy Hospice is teaming up with area funeral homes to offer “Coping with the Holidays.”
On Thursday, November 19th from 2-3 p.m. in the Day Room (formerly the Rehab Dining Room) at Mercy Hospital Fort Scott, Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home and Mercy invite those who have experienced a loss to learn tips on how to make it through the holidays. Facilitators for the program are Melissa George, Mercy Hospice chaplain; LaShawn Miller, Mercy Hospice social worker & volunteer coordinator; and Mike Cheney, Konantz-Cheney director.
In addition, a similar program will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 2-3 p.m. at Mercy Clinic-Linn County, located at 11155 Tucker Rd. Todd Schneider, Schneider Funeral Home director, will join the Mercy Hospice team as a facilitator.
The educational programs are open to the public. Caregivers and family members are welcome.
Refreshments will be provided and registration is not required.
