CRYSTAL CITY, Mo.  – Two of the newest physicians at Mercy Hospital Jefferson will join forces for the first Mercy Up Close series offering clinical information to the community.

Drs. Melinda Auer and Jacob Peyton will present “Advances in Minimally Invasive Gynecology” during a luncheon program from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the hospital conference center.

The two physicians, who work together with Dr. Will Snidle at Mercy Clinic OB/GYN – Jefferson, will discuss operative laparoscopy, mini-laparoscopy, vaginal surgery, operative hysteroscopy and office hysteroscopy.

Dr. Auer joined the Mercy Jefferson medical staff in August 2015 after completing her four-year residency at Metro Health Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University.

"When surgery is necessary, we can complete those procedures with minimally invasive approaches,” Dr. Auer said. “Recovery time is generally much quicker with a minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery."

Also joining the staff in 2015, Dr. Peyton earned his medical degree at University of Texas and completed his residency at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

"I am really passionate about shared decision making when it comes to medical care," he said. "My role is to educate the patient, to weigh risks and benefits, and give them all the information, so that they can make an informed decision about their care."

Lunch will be provided at the program, but advanced registration is required by Feb. 5. To attend or for more information call Andrew Held at 636-933-1603 or email andrew.held@mercy.net.
