Mercy Jefferson Adds Third Hyperbaric Chamber

CRYSTAL CITY, Mo. (March 21, 2016) – More patients have improved access to the healing properties of pressurized oxygen now that Mercy Hyperbarics and Wound Care has added its third hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

An open house with tours and refreshments is scheduled from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at the center on the ground floor of the North Medical Office at Mercy Hospital Jefferson.

In addition to the third hyperbaric chamber, a construction project expanded the capabilities of the Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center. Mercy added a dedicated patient restroom, a dressing room for hyperbaric patients and remodeled wound care exams rooms.

An estimated 6 million Americans suffer with chronic wounds each year. Board-certified surgeon Julie Weber and her team of specialists at Mercy Hyperbarics and Wound Care help patients with chronic or complicated wounds. In addition to hyperbaric oxygen treatment, the center can offer compression therapy, total contact casting, surgical debridement, skin substitutes, negative pressure therapy and ultrasonic debridement for patients with wounds that are not responding to traditional treatments.

Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial insurances are accepted and free transportation is available in select cases.
