KINGFISHER, Okla. – For nearly three decades, Carl Laffoon has worked diligently among the chaos of an emergency room.
A board-certified nurse practitioner, Laffoon joins Mercy Hospital in Kingfisher with 25 years of experience in emergency and critical care of adult and children.
“Caring for other human beings has always inspired me,” Laffoon says. “I realize that I typically care for patients during one of the most stressful times of their life and I want to make sure I do everything I can to make them comfortable.”
Laffoon says getting the patient’s family involved is crucial to his practice.
“Having that family connection is very important,” he said. “Empathy, warmth and encouragement go a long way in creating a positive feeling and healing environment for patients.”
In addition to being a board-certified nurse practitioner, Laffoon is also a nationally registered paramedic and is a board-eligible adult and geriatric acute care nurse practitioner.
In his spare time, Laffoon enjoys working out, snow skiing, water skiing, wake surfing and spending time with his family.
