Mercy will host a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for a new 30 room primary care and walk-in clinic on Thursday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at 202 E. 50th Street, Joplin, Missouri.
Initially, it’s expected for three family medicine physicians to practice at the new clinic.
“Mercy has a long history of health care in the region and continues to invest in the Joplin community by expanding services,” explained Tracy Godfrey, MD, Mercy Clinic Joplin physician president. “Adding the new clinic will help meet the growing demand for primary care in the four-state region.”
Construction of the 14,000 square-foot clinic building is underway and is scheduled to be completed by mid-fall 2016.
Mercy will lease the building from a local developer but will invest approximately $1 million in capital for furnishings, fixtures, equipment and technology.
To date, there are no weather contingency plans.
