There’s a new reason to smile when you’re visiting Mercy Clinic Family Medicine - Lebanon. Madeline Glasser, a certified physician assistant, has joined the team – and she’s a self-proclaimed “happy person.”
“I’m a very positive person who will always be there for my patients,” said Glasser, who officially joined Drs. Dennis Hite, Philip Mitchell, Sumit Singhal and Vernon Tegtmeyer on May 9. “This team is wonderful and the doctors are all top notch, so it makes the job even more incredible. Everyone can expect a great big smile when they see me.”
Glasser’s past is a good indicator of her future with Mercy. “My dad is a well-respected physician and he got me very passionate about medicine, so becoming a physician assistant was a perfect fit,” she said.
The Phoenix, Arizona native received her bachelor’s in physiology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She later received her master’s in physician assistant studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia.
“My husband is in active duty, so we’ve moved around quite a bit. At one point I even taught Catholic school while we lived near Fort Hood, Texas,” said Glasser, who isn’t a stranger to the Show-Me State. “It was brief, but we did live near Fort Leonard Wood.”
Now they’ve come full circle, along with two daughters – ages 2 and 4 – and are enjoying everything the Ozarks has to offer. “We love the outdoors – running, hiking and visiting the lake. My daughters also love scouting out new playgrounds. We’re just having a blast.”
Glasser is already seeing patients at the clinic daily, treating anything from chronic conditions to daily sick visits. “Everyone has been so warm and welcoming,” she said. “I’m truly embracing this opportunity to continue learning and build my career. It’s a close-knit community and I can’t wait to get to know even more people.”
