Mercy to Provide Free Kids’ Vitamins to Pharmacy Customers

July 15, 2016
Parents know getting enough nutrients is vital to helping their kids grow and stay strong, but not all kids will eat their veggies. That’s where vitamins can help fill the gaps, and Mercy pharmacies across the Ozarks will give those to parents – for free.

In partnership with the Good Neighbor Pharmacy’s Healthy Kids Vitamin Program, Mercy retail pharmacies will provide chewable children’s complete multivitamins for free to children ages 2 to 12. The program is for families who get their prescriptions filled at a Mercy pharmacy, and they can register by filling out a simple form when they pick up their medications. They will receive a punch card so they can get the vitamins each month.

“We see a lot of our patients come in regularly to renew prescriptions,” said Wendy King, Mercy assistant director of Pharmacy. “It just makes sense to send them home with something that can help their kids stay healthier, too.”

Mercy has retail pharmacies in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Lebanon, St. Robert, Licking, St. James and Rolla, Missouri. If you do not currently use a Mercy retail pharmacy, it’s easy to transfer prescriptions from another location. Mercy’s pharmacy accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurance plans.
