Mercy Technology Services (MTS) is bringing better care to even more patients with the expansion of its client family. It now includes Riverview Health (156 beds) in Noblesville, Indiana; McLeod Health (795 beds) in Florence, South Carolina; and Peninsula Regional Medical Center (292 beds) in Salisbury, Maryland.

Riverview Health is implementing Mercy’s Software-as-a-Service Epic solution, which includes installation, hosting, ongoing support and upgrades. “We needed a trusted and proven hosting partner to help us implement the market’s leading integrated electronic health record (EHR) system for an enhanced user and patient experience. Mercy has quickly demonstrated the talent and expertise to make it happen,” said Brant Bucciarelli, Riverview Health’s chief information officer (CIO).

“For a small- to mid-size hospital, this technology approach is a low-risk, cost-effective way to get providers up on Epic quickly and then frees them to focus on patient care throughout the lifecyc

le of their EHR,” said Gil Hoffman, Mercy CIO.

McLeod Health is using Mercy’s data analytics solution for supply management, along with a perioperative dashboard to measure and improve costs and performance in the area of surgical services. “Our goal is to replicate the successes that Mercy has had in reducing waste and standardizing best practices,” said Carmen Winfield, associate vice president of procurement services at McLeod Health. “Unlike other vendors, Mercy has the business and clinical knowledge, along with the data tools and expertise, to solve our challenges.”

“We enlisted Mercy’s support of our Epic EHR initiative to fill in the gaps where we lacked specific expertise,” said Ray Adkins, CIO at Peninsula Regional. Mercy is providing implementation support for Peninsula’s Epic EHR. “Mercy’s team has shown a high degree of flexibility, and their real-world experience with Epic has

helped our team avoid “scope creep” and stay focused on the task at hand.”

This expansion of MTS’ reach comes on the heels of a recent string of recent awards that include InformationWeek’s Elite 100 Innovatorthe CIO 100 award for IT Excellence and being named an “Analytics Wizard.”

Mercy, named one of the top five large U.S. health systems in 2016 by Truven, an IBM company, serves millions annually. Mercy includes 45 acute care and specialty (heart, children’s, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, more than 700 physician practices and outpatient facilities, 40,000 co-workers and more than 2,000 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has outreach ministries in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Mercy Technology Services (MTS) provides and manages technology solutions for Mercy, the nation’s first health care provider accredited by Epic to offer a full suite of EHR solutions to other hospitals, including Epic in the cloud, implementation and optimization. MTS’ award-winning data analytics integrate care delivery, manage costs and support a model of care that keeps patients healthier and out of the hospital. Visit
