Register Now for Mercy’s Kick it to Breast Cancer Kickball Tournament on October 8

Help save more lives this Breast Cancer Awareness Month by kicking it to breast cancer at the Mercy Health Foundation’s kickball tournament on Saturday, October 8 at Ellis Park.

Gather your teammates for the family-friendly kickball tournament where the day’s events raise money for a 3D mammography equipment upgrade at Mercy Hospital Fort Scott.

Every dollar raised will be matched by the Mercy Health Foundation Fort Scott.

The tournament kicks off at 9 a.m. with pool play.  The championship bracket will begin at 6 p.m. with fireworks and a DJ to follow the championship game.

Tournament details are:

  • Teams consist of 10 people (ages 10 and older) with a minimum of 50% females
  • Each team is guaranteed 2 games
  • The championship tournament is single-elimination bracket
  • Team fee is $200 and includes an event t-shirt for each member
  • Winning team receives $200 and a trophy; second place team receives a trophy
  • Teams are encouraged to wear matching t-shirts with their team name (or a team sponsor name) for the tournament, and the best t-shirt design receives half of the team entry fee back
  • Food and beverage sales are available at the event

According to, one in eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime.  Only skin cancer is more common in American women than breast cancer.
