The latest landmark achievement in the 30-month construction project is this month’s completion of the Mother/Baby Unit on the third floor of the existing hospital. Finished in four phases the unit renovation is now complete with all new labor and delivery suites, remodeled post partum rooms and two dedicated surgical units on the floor for caesarean section births when necessary.

The new patient suites are designed with patient and family comfort in mind along with the best health and safety features for newborns and their parents. In addition to the new equipment Mercy Clinic OB/GYN Jefferson has added three new physician providers in the past 24 months including Melinda Auer, M.D., Jacob Peyton, M.D., and Catherine Hutz, M.D., joining the practice with Will Snidle, M.D.

Other recently completed projects included the June opening of the new Main Entrance to the hospital building and the July Opening of the renovated hospital Gift Shop. Upcoming openings will include a new coffee bar and café dining area in September, a new chapel in November and the new clinic entrance near the north medical office in January.
