The first floor of the new tower is scheduled to begin admitting patients to its 30 private patient rooms on January 2, and the second floor has a go-live date for its 30 private patient rooms on January 16.
The new Mercy Cancer Center Jefferson will open in phases also. The Mercy Clinic Oncology and Hematology offices will be first with a go-live date of December 29. The infusion services and pharmacy inside the new cancer center are scheduled to open on January 4, and radiation oncology services will begin serving patients in the new center on January 10.
With the construction of the new 90-bed all private room patient tower at Mercy Hospital Jefferson and new Mercy Cancer Center on the campus, new technologies have also arrived that increase the commitment to patient care and safety.
A new 3T MRI arrived in November and is being installed. It will be operational by Dec. 18. A new linear accelerator for radiation oncology treatments will be available in the new cancer center.
Scheduled openings are contingent on inspections by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The inspection for the new patient tower and MRI is planned for December 14. The cancer center inspection is scheduled for December 20.
Opening dates for the new clinic offices and clinic entrance at the front of the hospital are planned for spring of 2018.
