Aging brings many joys, like more time with family and freedom in retirement, but our older years can also bring difficult life transitions including the loss of loved ones and stresses of age-related health concerns.
Mercy Hospital Lincoln continues to expand access to care and opened a new hospital-based, intensive outpatient group therapy program partnering with Senior Life Solutions.
“It’s our role as a health provider to find what services are most needed. I’m excited to know that Mercy is bringing another service to the community, one to specifically help our senior population cope with stressful life events for a better future,” said Tony Rothermich, Mercy Hospital Lincoln administrator. “Mercy Lincoln is the third Mercy hospital to partner with Senior Life Solutions.”
The program is designed to meet the unique needs of older adults over the age of 65 struggling with depression and anxiety often related to aging. Following an individual assessment, participants of Senior Life Solutions at Mercy meet three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group setting.
Mercy Hospital Lincoln underwent several renovations to make room for the Senior Life Solutions program. Team members include a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals – all dedicated to the emotional well-being of seniors in our community.
Anyone can make a referral to the program including a patient’s physician, health care professional or family member. To learn more about Senior Life Solutions offered at Mercy Hospital Lincoln (1000 E Cherry Street), call 636-528-3407.
