KINGFISHER, Okla. - Join Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and Relay For Life of Kingfisher County at the Hope Glows 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run Saturday, April 14.
The event will be held at Kingfisher High School and benefits the American Cancer Society.
“It’s important for us to bring awareness to cancer research, honor survivors and remember those who lost their battle with cancer,” said Brian Denton, administrator of Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. “We want people to continue to have hope that a cure will be found.”
The event is sponsored by Mercy and organized by the hospital’s Student Careers Council. The council is made up of 35 local high school seniors from Kingfisher County School Districts interested in community engagement and careers in health care. They organize a fall and springtime community event as part of their service on Mercy’s student council.
Everyone is invited to enjoy pre-race festivities including live music, bingo, food and a bounce house beginning at 6 p.m. The Glow Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk will begin after sundown following a luminary ceremony.
The event will be an official electronic chip-timed event. All participants will be able to see their finish times and be ranked among competitors.
To register, visit www.mercy.net/hopeglows. The fee to register is $10 and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. T-shirts will be provided for the first 250 registrants.
