Mercy Leader Named One of the Most Powerful Women in Health Care IT

May 8, 2018

Betty Jo Rocchio, Mercy’s chief nursing optimization officer, was recently honored for the third time as a 2018 Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT by Health Data Management.

Health Data Management – a leading IT source that engages more than 200,000 health care professionals, including CEOs, CFOs, physicians and nurse leaders across the U.S. – selected 50 women who are thought leaders and executives in information technology.

“This honor reflects a great deal of teamwork across Mercy,” said Rocchio, a 21-year veteran nurse. “I am passionate about taking technology and using it to provide better care for our patients. Mercy is focused on using analytics and technology to streamline processes. And that work has resulted in our nurses and caregivers being able to spend more time at the bedside of our patients. That’s when big data becomes real to our co-workers and our patients.”
