New Ophthalmologist Joins Mercy Clinic in Washington

WASHINTON, Missouri - Mercy Clinic Four Rivers is expanding its ophthalmology services with the addition of Ethan Crider, MD, who recently joined Mercy Clinic Ophthalmology in Washington, 901 Patients First Dr., Ste. 2600.

Dr. Crider will work with Doug Rose, OD, to provide comprehensive ophthalmology services. Along with basic eye concerns, Dr. Crider focuses on cataract surgery (with toric and multifocal lens implant), glaucoma management that can be done with medication or laser procedures, and retinal disease diagnosis.

“There is no other field like medicine and I am honored every day to get the chance to do this job,” Dr. Crider said, explaining why he chose the field of medicine. “I choose ophthalmology because vision is vital. The specialty offers a chance to make a big difference and help patients meet their visual goals.”

Providing a personalized, attentive approach at each patient appointment is important to Dr. Crider. “I want my patients to feel comfortable throughout the whole appointment and leave the appointment feeling that they have a good understanding of what is going on and that their voice was heard,” he added.   

Dr. Crider earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, where he also completed his residency training.
