More Access for Women's Care

August 28, 2020

Branson-area women will soon have a close-to-home option for obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) care as Dr. Charles Albritton begins offering local appointments next week.

“We heard from women in the Branson area that it would be nice to have more OB/GYN care options without always driving to Springfield,” said Amanda Gooch, vice president of operations for Mercy Women and Children. “Dr. Albritton was more than happy to move his schedule around to be in town at least two days a month.”

Dr. Albritton has been practicing in Springfield since 2019; he grew up in the Queen City and saw firsthand through his father’s practice how interesting a health care career would be. “He’s a doctor, so I’ve been around medicine my whole life,” Dr. Albritton said. “I can’t tell you how many times I had people come up to me and tell me how big of a difference my dad made in their life. Seeing that impact pushed me toward the field. I decided in high school it was the career I wanted to pursue.”

Dr. Albritton is particularly passionate about helping women manage chronic conditions and navigating patients through high-risk pregnancies. “I want every baby to arrive with the best chance at a wonderful future,” he said.

Dr. Albritton’s first day at Mercy Branson Multispecialty is Sept. 2, 2020.
