Mercy Lincoln Earns Five Stars for Patient Experience

TROY, Mo. – Mercy Hospital Lincoln is one of only three hospitals in Missouri and 266 hospitals nation-wide to earn five stars in a new patient experience rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

CMS, the federal administrator of the nation's major health care programs, devised the new patient experience star rating based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health care Providers and Systems scores collected from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2019 from 3,478 hospitals across the country. HCAHPS surveys are administered to a random sample of adult patients across all types of medical conditions between 48 hours and six weeks post-discharge.

In combination with the recent CMS announcement, Mercy Lincoln was also honored in 2019 by IBM Watson Health™ to have ranked in the top 20 hospitals in four of six measures by comparison with 659 critical access hospitals.
