The seasonal flu affects tens of thousands of Americans each year. The best protection comes from a yearly flu vaccination. With COVID-19 still circulating, protecting yourself and others is more important than ever.
Mercy is making it easy to get vaccinated with a drive-thru flu shot clinic from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3 in the parking lot of Mercy Cancer Center - Jefferson, 1350 U.S. Highway 61, on the Mercy Hospital Jefferson campus. A separate date and time will be offered for Mercy co-workers.
Anyone 7 years or older can get the shot without leaving their vehicle. Cars will be directed to enter the cancer center parking lot using the second entrance on Industrial Drive. Prior to the vaccine, each person will be asked screening questions, have their temperature taken and fill out paperwork. Please bring an ID and insurance card.
To register, please call Mercy Pharmacy at 636-933-1600 or 833-729-8796.
Flu season typically runs from October through May with different strains of the virus developing each year. Please do your part by getting a flu shot and following other CDC guidelines.
For those who miss the drive-thru clinic, Mercy provides the flu vaccine at most primary care clinics, pharmacies and urgent care locations. For more information, please visit mercy.net/fluvaccine.
