As a pediatric nurse practitioner, it’s Sandy Hinds’ goal to spread not only good health, but smiles, too. That’s exactly what led her to care for kids. “Some child will always brighten your day by what they say or do,” she said.
The newest provider at Mercy Clinic Pediatrics – Lebanon grew up in Willow Springs, Missouri, and jumped at the chance to work with children in the region she calls home.
Her roots also go deep when it comes to one of her health care passions: healthy diets. “I grew up on a farm and we had a huge garden,” she said. “I can understand how difficult it is for those who are financially unstable to stock up in the fruit and vegetable aisle at the grocery store, especially as the cost of food is rising. I wish more canned foods had better nutritional value, but in the meantime, I’m happy to advise my patients on good choices that fit in a budget.”
Hinds earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Missouri – Columbia, so it’s probably no surprise she’s a huge Mizzou Tigers fan. She earned her family nurse practitioner degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, and also roots for the Kansas City Chiefs. “I come from a huge family, which I love,” she shared. “I also love water sports, so I’ll be spending time at Lake of the Ozarks once it warms up.”
