Mercy Graduate Medical Education - Internal Medicine Scholarly Activity

Mercy St Louis Internal Medicine residency program encourages scholarly activity during all years of training.  Every resident is required to participate in a Quality Improvement Project which is closely tracked by faculty throughout the residency with a final presentation of the project either with a verbal presentation or poster at the annual Robert Taylor research colloquium at the end of the third year.

Mercy takes part in the annual Missouri American College of Physicians poster competition where residents are encouraged to present both clinical vignettes and safety posters.  There is also an opportunity to present clinical research as the annual Mercy Research Colloquium.

Mercy has an outstanding Institutional Review Board (IRB) department who is involved in helping residents with research projects.

Dedicated elective rotations are offered in order to provide residents time to formulate, develop and publish ongoing research.
