Mercy Springfield Communities offers a variety of student experiences. Please contact Karen.Kyle@Mercy.net with any questions.
Students interested in shadowing must complete the Individualized Learning Experience registration & packet, provide documentation of required immunity, a photo ID, a $50 processing fee and complete a drug screen and background check. Students must secure their Mercy sponsor (the person they plan to shadow) before turning in their paperwork.
Mercy Hospital Springfield's Medical Explorer Post #339 is an Exploring program jointly sponsored by Mercy Hospital Springfield and the Learning for Life’s career education program, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America Ozarks Council. The overall purpose of Exploring is to provide worksite-based experiences for young men and women who are 15 through 20 to help them pursue their special interests, grow, and develop. This Post, like most, has a focus on a single career field, which is healthcare.
Students interested in completing clinical rotations at Mercy must complete the Clinical Rotation Application, provide proof of medical malpractice coverage, clinical objectives and a letter of good standing from the academic program. An academic affiliation agreement signed by the school and Mercy must be in place prior to the student starting their rotation. Mercy does not assign clinical preceptors. Students must secure their preceptor prior to turning in their paperwork.
