In the U.S., one in eight women will learn she has breast cancer at some time in her life. Survival rates are highest when breast cancer is diagnosed and treated in the earliest stage.

At Mercy Breast Center - Fort Smith, we’re dedicated to helping women beat breast cancer. Through early detection, treatment, education and ongoing support, we empower women in the fight against this disease. The breast center team is committed to keeping you healthy, and we do it in a comfortable, warm, personal setting.

Our mission at Mercy Breast Center is to bring you the best possible patient care in a setting where you feel trust and support. We offer automated whole-breast ultrasound (ABUS) and 3D mammography screenings, plus expert follow-up care for all breast conditions, including cancer or other breast diseases. When it comes to your breast health, count on our team to deliver the care you need.

Mammography Financial Assistance

Uninsured or underinsured women can get help paying for their mammogram, and other diagnostic services needed to diagnose breast cancer, through two different programs:

  • Arkansas BreastCare program sponsored by the Department of Health
  • To Save A Life program sponsored by the Mercy Health Foundation

SAVI SCOUT® Technology

The SAVI SCOUT® surgical guidance system is an innovative technology allows Mercy surgeons to more accurately pinpoint lesions prior to surgery. The sophisticated technology helps surgeons with:

  • Tumor localization
  • Surgical planning
  • Surgical guidance
  • Confirmation of the tissue to be remove

The SAVI SCOUT® surgical guidance system uses no radiation and no wires. Instead, a small staple-sized device (reflector) is placed in the days leading up to surgery. The SAVI SCOUT, which uses radar technology, guides the surgeon to precisely target the breast tissue during a lumpectomy or excisional biopsy procedure, plan the incision and direct surgery.
