White Christmas Charity Ball: Your Gifts at Work

Your Gifts at Work

Thank you!  Over the years, you have helped thousands of your River Valley neighbors gain access to compassionate, high-quality health care.

Across the 18 counties of Arkansas and Oklahoma that we serve, our purpose is clear – we are committed to building a healthier community.

You are an important part of this mission.  Your gifts are cherished, your partnership is valued, your engagement is crucial, and you’ve shown – without hesitation – you too are committed to building a local health system that is second-to-none, but available for all.

In 2016, you saw that Mercy approaches women’s health holistically, tending to the mental, social, physical and spiritual needs of our patients. With over $43,000 given toward Catherine’s Light, a new program inspired by Sister Catherine McAuley, foundress of Mercy, this program empowers expectant moms to better cope with the social, environmental and behavioral health challenges of childbirth. Your gift will provide clinical and environmental support to address ante and post-partum depression, anxiety and chemical dependency – especially for those mom’s facing child-birth with no support system. Healthy moms mean healthier babies, and healthy babies ensure a brighter future for us all. The evening’s event raised over $462,000 toward charity care, enhanced programs and life-saving equipment.

In 2015, you opened your hearts and gave over $42,000 for patients and their families coping with end-of-life care at Mercy Fort Smith Hospice.  You gave the gift of dignity and serenity for those who may have gone without – at one of the very most vulnerable seasons of life. The evening’s event raised over $397,000 to help those who face their healthcare needs at a disadvantage.

In 2014, you saw a pressing need for improved access to medical transportation to and from treatments and doctors visits, and in quick fashion raised over $44,000 to purchase vans and hire staff to get the Mercy Non-Emergent Transportation program going. The evening’s event raised over $230,000 to help enhance healthcare for the River Valley.

These are just three examples of the dozens of programs and thousands of people you touch with your gifts each year.  Whether it’s assistance with prescriptions, doctor visits, medical testing and supplies or even bringing new life-saving equipment and health care providers to our community, you are helping meet the medical needs of our community.

Thank you, for believing in us, and being part of our mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus.
