What is Home Infusion?

Infusion therapy involves the administration of medications given IV (in the vein) by way of a needle or IV catheter.  IV medications are often used when a condition is too severe to be effectively treated with oral medications.

Traditionally, patients requiring infusion therapy were required to remain in a hospital for the duration of their treatment.   However, because of improvements in medical technology, you can safely and conveniently receive treatment right at home.

Our knowledgeable staff members work with your doctor to determine the best way to give the medication that will most effectively meet your needs and ability.

Most people who receive home infusion therapy enjoy a better quality of life, improved treatment outcomes and lower health care costs.

Some of the conditions most commonly treated with home infusion therapy include:

  • Infections
  • Cancer
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Chrohn’s disease
  • Dehydration
  • Gastrointestinal diseases
  • Pain management
  • Multiple sclerosis
