Mercy Kids Health Fair & Teddy Bear Clinic

Mercy Kids are special to us, that’s why we’ve tailored an event just for them.

Bring the kids out for some healthy family fun and laughter at the Mercy Kids Health Fair on Saturday, August 11 at Mercy Hospital Fort Scott. From 9 a.m. – noon, the clinic will provide health screenings, a teddy bear clinic, fitness fun, prizes, school supply giveaways and refreshments.

All screenings and events are free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.

A highlight of the event is the Teddy Bear Clinic. Kids are encouraged to bring their teddy bear or favorite doll for a check-up by one of our Mercy Clinic physicians. Surgeons will be on hand to mend minor scrapes and cuts, too.

Just a few of the activities for the morning are:

  • Health screenings (eye, vision, blood pressure, height and weight, and dental checks)
  • Education about nutrition, vaccines, asthma, hand-washing, healthy snacks and colds & flu
  • Exercise stations
  • Face painting
  • Mercy EMS, as well as fire trucks, firefighters and Bourbon County Sherriff and Kansas State Trooper personnel

A backpack loaded with school supplies will be given away as a grand-prize drawing. The winner need not be present to win, but sign in the day of the event to be entered for the drawing.
