Before We Get Started

In order to schedule your appointment, we need you to answer a few questions.

  • Do you have a personal history of breast cancer?
  • Do you have any current breast symptoms? (drainage, lump, pain/tenderness)
  • Do you have breast implants?
  • If you've had a mammogram before, were the results normal?
  • Do you have a primary care physician that you've seen within the past 3 years?

Based on your responses

Your mammogram may require specialized attention. Please call to schedule your appointment.

With Mercy Hospital Fort Scott’s imaging services, you have close-to-home access to advanced technologies, putting you on the fast track to diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

3D Mammography

The 3D Tomosynthesis Mammogram can detect breast cancer at early stages because of all the images available to the radiologist. It also helps reduce the number of false positives for breast cancer, so women don't have to return for additional screening mammograms.

It's important to have an annual mammogram beginning at the age of 40, to do self breast exams on a monthly basis and to have yearly clinical breast exams by your doctor.

If you’re having a mammogram for the first time, you may have questions about what to expect. Download our Guide to Mammograms to learn more about techniques, age guidelines and more.
