The Mercy Hospital St. Louis Research Institute supports the development of the highest quality research at Mercy Hospital St. Louis and its related organizations. Medical care of the future will evolve from today’s basic science and clinical research. The Institute develops and participates in research that provides meaningful answers to pertinent clinical questions. It provides administrative and logistical support to the Mercy research community to ensure it is in compliance with policies, research sponsor requirements, accreditation standards, and all state and federal laws and regulations.
The Institute helps Mercy’s sponsorship of medical residency programs and the education of other health care professionals. It promotes a learning environment that stimulates academic excellence, curiosity, an interest in the health professions and an advancement of medical knowledge. The strength of Mercy’s clinical staff is enhanced by medical, nursing and other research in advancing the art and science of medicine. The Institute is committed to nurturing a culture of ethical investigation and learning throughout the hospital.
