Casa provides a safe place where victims of domestic violence can be oriented, educated on domestic violence and where emotional support is provided. Casa also links victims to appropriate agencies based on their needs and goals.

How to Get Help

If you think you are a victim of domestic violence and want information, call 956.712.9591 or 1-877-782-2722 (toll free).

Casa staff will assist you with a safety plan and answer questions regarding your situation. All information obtained is confidential. Appropriate referrals will be made to community agencies depending on your needs or the needs of other victims.

Your safety is of utmost importance. Sometimes the abuse has escalated to the point where you may have to leave your home. Plan ahead, think of relatives, friends, etc. who can assist you. If it is in your best interest to leave your home, do not forget legal documents, change of clothes, money, medication, children's diapers, formula and child's favorite toy.

Another consideration may be a protective order. A protective order will remove the batterer from the house. For more information on protective orders, call Casa.

Casa de Misericordia provides services to victims of domestic violence without regard to race, national origin, age, physical handicap, religion or gender identity.
