Sisters Health Boutique has trained Fit Specialists on staff to provide in-store, complimentary, private fitting services for breast forms/prosthesis and bras. Please call the store for an appointment at 479-986-6050.
Fitting appointments for new patients typically last 30 minutes to one hour and may include fittings for both breast forms and bras. Patients are encouraged to bring along a friend or support partner during the fitting. Before a fitting, patients will be asked about the condition of their skin to ensure there will be no irritation from the fitting. If there are potential issues (burning, scars, rash), the fitter may suggest that the patient return for the fitting on a later date. The fitter will also offer to contact the patient’s doctor or breast navigator to discuss whether to continue with the fitting or to reschedule.
Immediately following surgery, patients may find that a post-surgery garment will provide comfort and protection. Sisters will offer several styles and options for this phase of healing.
Up to six weeks following surgery, patients may be easing back into activities and benefit from a soft cotton leisure bra. A wide selection of bras are available to assist in the healing process.
More than six weeks after surgery, patients are getting back into their normal activities and may be ready for breast forms and bras. Throughout this phase, it may be necessary to have multiple fittings if breasts are off-balance due to reconstruction or weight changes. ‘Balancing’ pieces are also available to assist with any balance issues. Our Fit specialists are trained to assist women in finding the right products for their needs. We do ask that patients call in advance for a Fitting appointment at 479-986-6050.

Patients should check with their insurance carrier to find out what their benefits are to ensure how many prosthetics/bras they are allowed (covered by their insurance plan) each year. Coverage for six bras per year is average. The number of breast prosthetics (forms) covered each year will be determined by the type of surgical procedure undergone. Mercy DME will also contact you prior to your fitting appointment to confirm that you are aware of all charges.
