Low Dose CT Lung Screening Criteria

To qualify for a Low Dose CT Lung Screen, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Age 55 to 77 years old
  • A 30 “pack year” or greater history of smoking (a “pack year” is calculated from multiplying the number of packs of cigarettes smoked per day by the number of years the person has smoked)
  • Either a current smoker or have quit in the past 15 years
  • No symptoms of lung cancer such as a cough, shortness of breath or chest pain
  • Able and willing to tolerate further treatment if lung cancer is discovered

Some exclusions may apply, including: 

  • unexplained weight loss of more than 15 lbs. in the 12 months prior to screening
  • pneumonia or acute respiratory infection treated with antibiotics in 12 weeks prior to screening
