Supporting Care for Today and Tomorrow

Fund Helps Rebuild Health Care in Joplin

On May 22, 2011, a deadly tornado tore through Joplin, Missouri. That day, the people of Joplin lost so much, including their long-standing community hospital,
St. John’s Mercy.

Now, in the spirit of hope and healing, Mercy is investing nearly $1 billion to rebuild health care in the Joplin community.

This month, Mercy will break ground on a new health care complex with an advanced care hospital that will offer:

  • Medical and surgical care
  • Critical care
  • Labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms
  • Neonatal and pediatric intensive care
  • Cancer care

By rebuilding in Joplin, Mercy continues a health care ministry begun there by the Sisters of Mercy in 1885. And when you contribute to the Rebuild Mercy Fund, you join us in assuring care for Joplin residents well into the future.

Please consider a gift to the Rebuild Mercy Fund through Mercy Health Foundation Joplin.
