Bereavement Group Meets in Washington

 

 

Mercy Hospice offers grief support in Washington.

WASHINGTON, Mo. Mercy Hospice is offering a support group for people who are experiencing grief after the death of a loved one. Support groups offer a quality of support and connection that comes from being with people who are coping with similar circumstances. Group attendance provides a consistent place to gather and process emotions.

The grief support group meets from 10 a.m. to noon in the Mercy Medical Building Conference Room, Suite 214 in the Mercy Medical Building North, 851 E. Fifth St. in Washington. It meets for six consecutive Mondays from April 1 to May 6. Members receive the greatest benefit by attending most sessions. Pre-registration is requested. For those who are approaching the anniversary of a loved one’s death, Mercy Hospice offers a monthly anniversary support group. Members discuss tips for coping with emotions as the anniversary approaches, rituals for honoring loved ones and tasks for moving forward. The anniversary support group meets the second Tuesday of each. Attendees can attend one of two sessions, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. or from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospice Home Care, 1000 Des Peres Road, second floor conference room in Des Peres. Attendees may bring photos or other special items to decorate a commemorative candle.
