New Procedure Offered for Acid Reflux Sufferers "GERD"

Do you suffer from acid reflux?  You may be a candidate for the LINX® Reflux Management System, a less-invasive option for when medication no longer provides adequate control of your symptoms. 

Drs. Joseph Buendia and Steven Magness were the first physicians in the state to be trained in this procedure and are offering it to patients in Oklahoma City.  Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City was the first hospital to make this option available to Oklahoma.  

The LINX® System is a small, flexible band of magnets that keep the stomach valve closed to prevent acid reflux.  Swallowing forces the beads to separate and allow food to pass.  The magnetic band subsequently closes the valve. 

Most patients are eating after surgery and go home the same day.
