I completed the e-checkin so I would not have to fill out paper forms when I arrived. When I arrived, I was informed that their system does not provide a copy of my e-checkin information. So I was required to fill out paper forms. I asked why I was sent the e-checkin request if my responses were not sent to them. From their response, I understand this is a long outstanding issue and that many other Mercy patients go through the same duplicative effort that I had to endure. I am disappointed that Mercy's IT systems are not being fully utilized as this unnecessarily inflates Mercy's operating costs and decreases customer satisfaction. My suggestion is that all Mercy offices get the benefit of patient e-checkin responses and until then, Mercy should STOP sending e-checkin requests for patients visiting locations where the IT systems are not being used for this purpose.
