Mercy Clinic Weight and Wellness Center in Ballwin, Mo. provides patients with options to create the best program for their lifestyle and weight loss goals.
Treating obesity is more than about getting rid of the extra pounds; it’s also about decreasing associated illness and improving quality of life. Obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30-39. Morbid obesity is defined as a BMI of 40 or greater. Calculate your BMI. Studies have shown the higher the BMI, the greater risk for associated illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, fertility problems, arthritis/joint pain and others.
At Mercy we believe in personalized medicine, not “one-size-fits-all.” Our team evaluates each patient with a thorough physical and medical exam, a review of your diet and exercise history, and a review of your goals as a patient. We take an integrated approach to weight management by providing behavioral counseling, dietary counseling, disease management, exercise counseling, pharmacotherapy, psychological counseling and weight loss surgery.
