About Dustin R. Tompkins, DO

Care Philosophy I decided to go into medicine because I fell in love with volunteering in the hospital in Springfield and enjoyed seeing patient's journey through health and wellness. I decided to specialize in internal medicine because I enjoy working on complex and chronic diagnosis. I love that I am able to walk through these conditions with my patients and their families. I treat my patients as if they were a part of my own family. I love being involved in the community and building relationships with my patients.

I waited mre than 30 minutes to get into a room. Then I waited almost 30 minutes to be seen by the DR. Then he spent less than 10 minutes with me, asked a few questions listened to my heart and lungs , and that was it. I lost half a day of pay, for basically nothing. Sure as hell wasn't worth my time and loss of pay.

My doctor and his staff do a good job but it is very difficult to get an appointment to see my doctor in a timely manner. It also normally takes a few days to see his nurse practitioner. Mercy needs to take steps to correct this situation. I really don't care about why this is this case but it's not acceptable!
