Care Philosophy
I chose to go into medicine because I had a family member that required some extensive medical needs as a child and into adulthood. Seeing the different doctors interact with my family and how they treated my brother really encouraged me to want to do what they did. I chose to become a family nurse practitioner because you get to see such a wide variety of patients. In one room you could see a one-year-old child for a well visit with their parents, educating on milestones and what to expect outside of the office. And then in the next room you could be assisting an elderly couple filling out their advance directive. Day to day, it looks very different. But I think what I most enjoy is sitting down with a patient, formulating a plan of care that meets their needs and empowers them to leave the office knowing they can achieve those goals and feel better living their day-to-day life.
