About Nitesh Kumar Byrappa, MD

Care Philosophy I've been in the United States for eight years and I’ve worked in three states. Post-COVID, I worked in hospital medicine for a year. It changed my perspective and inspired me to pursue family medicine. As a family medicine provider, I can promote wellness and preventive care and help keep patients from needing to go to the hospital. My philosophy—that everyone deserves dignity and respect—aligns with Mercy’s values. That’s why I chose to come here, and I'm very happy about that. I like to teach and being in primary care gives me the opportunity to teach patients about their health and learn from them too. It also lets me meet people from different backgrounds and different walks of life. It's teamwork, we’re constantly learning from each other. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a patient actually feeling great and having a better quality of life, and saying, “This is how I was six months ago and this is how I am now.” That's life- changing medicine for them.

It was a pleasure to meet the doctor today. He listened to my concerns and gave me appropriate care to resolve my pressing health issues. I definitely would recommend him to anyone needing kind and compassionate care.

It was my first time meeting him. He was super understanding when I came in and started vomiting. He was very patient and told me to use the room as long as I needed to after he left. He also seems to have a lot of knowledge of my medical issues. I think he will be a great addition to my care team

Routine visit, as changing to the physician seen in this visit, as new primary care physician. All was done in a timely yet professional and courteous manner, so very satisfied with the visit.
