It’s been a journey. I was a single mom of four kids. I looked into potential jobs and this one sounded amazing. I decided to see how I did academically and how to reach my goal of giving back and improving people’s lives and it flowed into this profession. My grades were good enough to do that. I kept pushing towards my goal and didn't stop until I got here. I see my job as an extension of the physician. We can do lots of things that they can do: see your medical history and see why you came in, order tests, interpret those results and develop a plan together with you as provider and patient. I love helping people. It makes me feel complete if I improve somebody's day. If the ten or 15 minutes I spend with them helps them feel better, that makes me happy. I advise patients to own your health, learn as much as you can about what's going on, educate yourself, ask questions. That empowers you to create the best outcome for your health and happiness.
