What Is the Administrative Leader Fellowship (ALF)?

The Administrative Leader Fellowship is a unique opportunity to become the leader you were meant to be. This unique, hands-on program gives new co-workers the chance to embark on a path to leadership roles within their first year with Mercy.

We’re looking for enterprising future leaders ready to answer the call to provide innovative, compassionate care rooted in faith. If chosen for the program, you'll get to work on key areas of professional development to hone fundamental skills, accelerating your career advancement.

Why Mercy? 

Mercy has been a leader in transforming health care for nearly 200 years. Today, we're changing the way we approach disease prevention and treatment by embracing new technology and collaborating with health care partners like Mayo Clinic. By leaning on a vast network of data, insights, products and partnerships, we can affect health care outcomes on a global scale.

  • Once submitted, your application will be reviewed in a timely manner. We'll let you know if we're considering you as a candidate for the program.
  • Candidates will participate in a series of interviews that gauge their leadership potential and their fit into Mercy's culture.
  • A formal executive talent assessment is required for those advancing in the interview process.
  • A formal offer of employment will be extended to chosen applicants.

Education:

 

  • Must have a master’s degree with an emphasis in either Health Care, Finance, Data Analytics and Technology Services or Consumer Experience and Marketing

 

Requirements:

 

  • Have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA
  • Submit an academic or professional letter of recommendation
  • Write a personal statement
  • Respond to the program prompt essay
  • Take a talent assessment

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

 

  • Demonstrate leadership ability
  • Embrace new professional experiences and leadership training
  • Be flexible, willing to take on challenging operational and administrative projects
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Show a passion for independent and collaborative work
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making and time management skills
  • Work with attention to detail while simultaneously meeting time constraints
  • Be willing to take on leadership and non-leadership roles and responsibilities

Mercy will select six ALF participants from among all applicants. For accepted applicants, this is an incredible opportunity to jump start your career while building leadership skills and improving health care.

 

ALF participants are hired as full-time employees who serve in one-year experiential learnings in areas of Mercy’s healing ministry. ALF Associates will serve in one of these areas:

 

  • Operations
  • Finance Operations
  • Data Analytics and Technology Services
  • Consumer Experience and Marketing

 

All ALF associates will partake in a two-week immersive orientation program.
