Deborah R. Damore, DMin, BCC, ACPE Certified Educator and National Faculty
Interim Director of Mercy Pastoral Education

Deborah Damore is an ACPE-certified educator, national faculty member and a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). Originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, she is ordained with the Assemblies of God. With 30 years of experience in chaplaincy leadership and education, she's served in large academic Level 1 trauma hospitals, including Corewell Health in Michigan and Summa Health in Ohio, where she was director of spiritual care and CPE. She also held roles as chaplaincy professional practice leader, educator and chaplain staff support at Hamilton Health Sciences in Ontario. Committed to academically integrated CPE, Deborah has held faculty appointments in two medical schools and a seminary.

Susan-Buchanan-MDiv

Susan Buchanan, MDiv, ACPE Certified Educator
Manager of Pastoral Education, Mercy Hospital Springfield

Susan Buchanan is an ACPE-certified educator who leads the CPE program at Mercy Hospital Springfield. Since joining Mercy in 2021, she's provided creative leadership in expanding CPE offerings and utilizing technology to support rural communities within Mercy's service areas. Her career has included roles as director of recruitment and student services for the Houston-Galveston extension program of SMU's Perkins School of Theology, campus minister at Kilgore College in Texas and congregational pastor. An ordained United Methodist pastor, Susan holds a Master of Divinity from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University. A native of Houston, she completed her CPE residency at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and trained as a CPE educator at Houston Methodist and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

David-Kilpatrick

David Kilpatrick, BCC, ACPE Certified Educator Candidate
Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education, Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City

David Kilpatrick is an ACPE-certified educator candidate who leads the CPE program in Oklahoma City. Since joining Mercy in 2022, he's overseen the development and expansion of CPE within the Oklahoma City metro area and across the Mercy health system. David has served in hospice, hospital and military chaplaincy. Endorsed by the International Ministerial Fellowship (IMF) since 2015, he holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University. His CPE training took place at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa and the VA Healthcare System in central and eastern Oklahoma. A board-certified chaplain with the National Association of VA Chaplains (NAVAC), David also serves as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserve with the 507th Air Refueling Wing at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

Roman Kozlov, MDiv, BCC, ACPE Certified Educator Candidate
Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education, Mercy Hospital South

Roman Kozlov is an ACPE-certified educator candidate who oversees the CPE program at Mercy Hospital South. He joined Mercy in 2018 and served as a staff chaplain for four years before transitioning into his current role. A board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) since 2018, Roman previously served as a pastor in Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) congregations across the eastern U.S. for 16 years. He completed a two-year CPE residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri, before joining Mercy.

Allison Wible, MA, BCC, ACPE Certified Educator Candidate
Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education, Mercy Hospital St. Louis

Allison Wible is an ACPE-certified educator candidate and a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). She oversees the CPE program at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Since joining Mercy in 2016, she worked in acute care settings as a staff chaplain before transitioning into education. Her experience also includes hospice chaplaincy and congregational ministry, with a focus on spiritual formation and education. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Allison completed her theological education at Denver Seminary. Her CPE training took place at Sutter Health, St. Louis University Hospital and Mercy Hospital Springfield.
