Another A Grade for Mercy Hospital Lebanon

Mercy Hospital Lebanon has received another straight A in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for achievements in protecting patients from harm and errors in the hospital.

“As your hometown hospital, we get the privilege of caring for our friends and neighbors, whether they’ve received a cancer diagnosis or need emergency care,” said Nicki Gamet, administrator of Mercy Hospital Lebanon. “We want only the very best for our patients and will do everything we can to ensure they receive the highest-quality care possible. This grade tells us we’re on the right track, and we’ll continue to innovate to be even better.”

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns letter grades to hospitals across the country based on more than 30 performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents, infections and the protocols hospitals have in place to prevent harm to patients.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public at hospitalsafetygrade.org. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.

The A grade from The Leapfrog Group is in addition to other recent recognitions of safety and quality at Mercy Hospital Lebanon, including a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. That rating includes things like mortality, safety of care, patient experience and effectiveness of care.
