Nominations are now being accepted for the Catherine McAuley Physician Leadership Award to recognize a physician who demonstrates significant leadership in the spirit of Mercy’s mission and values. Physicians must be active on medical staff and must have served on staff at Mercy Jefferson for at least three years.

Nominations forms are available online, in Administration or the Mercy Jefferson Gift Shop. Paper forms should be submitted to the Administration office or Gift Shop.

Anyone may submit a nomination including patients, family, visitors, other physicians, Mercy co-workers or volunteers. The online nomination link is available at www.mercy.net/PhysNomination.

The nomination form asks for a description of how the physicians lives up to the Mercy Mission: “As the Sisters of Mercy before us, we bring to life the healing ministry of Jesus through our compassionate care and exceptional service.” And how the physician reflects Mercy’s Values of Dignity, Justice, Service, Excellence and Stewardship. Examples and stories are helpful as they describe the physician’s impact and relationships with patients, staff, fellow physicians, improvement of care processes and interaction with the broader community.

The deadline for nominations to be received is March 14.
