Allergies are among the most common chronic illness. They can develop at any age. They’re usually mild, but can be life threatening. If ignored, they can lead to chronic conditions in your head, chest, skin or digestive tract. Allergies can be the cause of your sinus problems, headaches, earaches, snoring, eye problems, skin problems like eczema and hives, as well as diseases of the chest like asthma, bronchitis, and chronic cough.
A physical examination, combined with allergen skin testing techniques, can often uncover the cause of most allergies. Once the specific allergy is identified, treatment may include a program to build patient immunity or medication to control allergic reactions.
