Perinatal substance use occurs when a woman uses or develops a dependency on substances like alcohol, tobacco or drugs during pregnancy or up to a year after giving birth. Using substances during this time impacts the health of mothers and their babies. If you’re pregnant or caring for a baby and substance use is affecting your life, Mercy Clinic Perinatal Substance Use Recovery offers compassionate care.
Our team includes experts in maternal-fetal medicine, psychiatry and substance use. Bringing these specialists together gives you and your baby a single resource for support. Our nurses and social workers guide you to the right care.
