Your vision is used to take in the world around you and experience the joys of life. Mercy Eye Care would love to help you experience life to the fullest. We're dedicated to maximizing your vision, protecting your eyes and finding a look you adore.

At Mercy Eye Care, we offer routine eye exams, glasses and contact lenses. An annual eye health exam is a vital part of preventative healthcare. Eye exams can often detect other systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and even cancer. During the exam, our optometrists look for these diseases as well as write prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses. Our caring eye doctors focus on helping our patients see better while our experienced opticians assist them in looking and feeling their best. We have a wide array of frames from newborn sizes to the latest trendy styles. We accept many vision insurance plans including VSP and EyeMed. If you've already had an eye exam, we accept prescriptions from outside doctors. We promise to deliver uncompromising service from a team you can trust.

Our Services

Eye Exams

An annual eye health exam is a vital part of preventative healthcare. Eye exams can often detect other systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and even cancer. During the exam our optometrists look for these as well as write prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses. Our eye doctors can detect other eye conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Some of these eye disorders can be watched and treated by our optometrists and others would be referred to our ophthalmologists to monitor.

Pediatric Exams

Our optometrists can generally do an eye exam starting at age 4 or 5 years old. It is recommended that all children starting school have an annual eye exam. Some common symptoms related to needing glasses are headaches, squinting, reading slowly and excessive blinking and rubbing of the eyes. If you suspect your child has eye or vision problems and they are too young to identify either letters or pictures, we recommend a pediatric optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Contact Lens Fittings

A contact lens prescription is different from an eyeglasses prescriptions. Our optometrists take additional measurements of your eyes and ask you questions to determine the right kind of contact lenses for you. If you have never worn contact lenses there is no need to worry. Our opticians will take whatever time needed to teach you how to insert, remove and care for your new contacts.

Our Products

Eyeglasses

Mercy Eye Care offers one of the largest selection of frames in the St Louis area. Our Ballas Road location has over 1500 frames including designer, specialty, and economic brands. We carry well-known brands such as Coach, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Ray Ban, Kate Spade, Versace, Gucci, Prada, Fendi and Burberry. Depending on your prescription, you could have single-vision, multifocal or no-line bifocals, often called progressive lenses. Our expert opticians will go over the features and benefits of your lens options.

Prescription Lenses

Whether you have a simple prescription or something that is more complex, Mercy Eye Care can fill it with precision:

  • Single-Vision Lenses - Single vision lenses can help if you are nearsighted, farsighted, or have an astigmatism.
  • Multifocal Lenses - Multifocal lenses allow you to combine two or more focal points in one lens. Multifocal options include lined bifocals, lined trifocals, and no-line progressive lenses.
  • No-Line Bifocals or Progressive lenses - Progressive lenses allow multiple focal points in one lens without the visible line. These are most like your natural vision.

Contact Lenses

We have a large assortment of contacts available including monthly, two week, and daily contacts. We also have contacts that are approved to be worn overnight, and color contacts if you are wanting to change your look. We carry all of the major name-brand contacts, and you'll receive free shipping with the purchase of a 1-year supply of contacts.

Sunglasses

Just as important as having sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun, it's just as important to have sun protection for your eyes. There are several options to protect yourself from overexposure to UV light, the most important of which is UV protection in your lenses. This is actually a clear coating that helps prevent UV light from entering the eye and the area around the eye. Polarized sunglass eliminates even more blinding reflective glare from the sun and gives you better visual acuity when wearing your sunglasses. We offer a variety of popular styles from classic and updated aviator to sports and Hollywood styles.

Kid's Packages

Our children’s area, “Kid's Eyes Only,” offers hundreds of kids frames in the latest styles and colors. Our patient optician will help your child find his or her perfect fit. If it is their first time wearing glasses, they will receive care and handling instructions when they pick up their new eyewear. Our frame selection includes the smallest frames imaginable to fit a tiny newborn face, flexible frames that are super durable, classic metal styles, and trendy plastic styles. We offer kid's packages to fit any budget.
